Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly try to keep Gareth Bale at White Hart Lane by offering the prolific winger a fresh big-money contract.
The Wales international, who has been linked to La Liga giants Real Madrid and English champions Manchester City, recently penned a new deal at the North London outfit keeping him at the club until 2016.
Despite agreeing new terms last summer, it is understood that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is determined to fend off competition for Bale by tabling a five-year deal worth around £40m, according to the Daily Mail.
Recent reports have claimed that Bale will opt to stay with the club this summer.
