Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris from Lyon for an initial fee of £8m.
The 25-year-old had been top of Andre Villas-Boas's goalkeeping wishlist as the Portuguese tactician searched for a long-term replacement for ageing stopper Brad Friedel.
Despite negotiations with both club and player stalling throughout the day, the transfer has been officially finalised after Lloris passed a medical and signed a four-year contract at White Hart Lane.
Lloris captained France at Euro 2012, playing all four games under coach Laurent Blanc.
