Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to signing Peruvian Under-17s international Horacio Benincasa.

Tottenham Hotspur are poised to sign Peruvian left-back Horacio Benincasa, according to The Mirror.

The 17-year-old impressed at the recent South American Under-17s championship, where he was reportedly watched by scouts from White Hart Lane.

The defender is said to have flown to the UK to take part in reserve games for Spurs as a trialist.

Harry Redknapp will be hoping that a Spanish passport that Benincasa has because of family ties in Spain will ease the process of bringing a South American youngster to Europe.

Benincasa currently plays for Esther Grande de Bentin and is reportedly available for a nominal fee.
