Tottenham Hotspur defender Adam Smith has joined Derby County on a season-long loan deal.
The 22-year-old arrives at the Championship club as a replacement for John Brayford, who signed a four-year deal with Cardiff City last week.
"We're extremely pleased to bring Adam in on a season-long loan deal," manager Nigel Clough told Derby's official website.
"As soon as we were aware John was going to leave last week we identified Adam as someone we would like to bring in, so to have the deal done within a matter of days is very pleasing and we're sure he'll be a good player for us."
Derby will start the new season at home to Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
