Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to completing the signing of Sevilla winger Bryan Gil in a deal that will see Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction.

Newly-appointed head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and director of football Fabio Paratici are believed to be big admirers of the 20-year-old, who is away with the Spanish national team at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

Even though Gil has £43m release clause in his current contract, Tottenham have agreed to pay Sevilla £21.6m for the winger, with Lamela joining the Spanish club as part of the deal, according to Sky Italia.

Lamela is set to sign a three-year contract with Julen Lopetegui's side, bringing to an end his eight-year spell in North London.

Gil has recently caught the eye of several clubs across Europe after an impressive loan spell with La Liga outfit Eibar.

The winger was unable to prevent Los Armeros from relegation, but managed to record four goals and three assists across 29 league appearances.
