Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to fork out Stuttgart's asking price of €25m (£21.4m) for Argentinian attacker Nico Gonzalez.
A torn muscle fibre curtailed the 23-year-old's Bundesliga season last term, but he still ended the 2020-21 campaign with a respectable tally of six goals and two assists in 15 top-flight appearances.
Gonzalez's performances have supposedly attracted the attention of both Fiorentina and Tottenham, but the Lilywhites are supposedly set to steal a march on the Serie A side in the race for the winger.
According to Sky Italia, Fiorentina have tabled an offer of €22m (£18.8m) plus €3m (£2.6m) in add-ons for Gonzalez, but Stuttgart are holding out for a sum of €25m (£21.4m) and €4m (£3.4m) in bonuses.
The report adds that Tottenham are happy to cough up that amount of money to secure the signature of Gonzalez, who has been called up to the Argentina squad for this year's Copa America.
Gonzalez's existing deal at Stuttgart is set to expire in 2024, and he has registered 23 goals and 10 assists in 79 appearances for the club since arriving from Argentinos Juniors in 2018.
