Steven Naismith's move from Norwich City to Sunderland has broken down, according to a report.
It had been claimed that the Scotland international was close to joining the Black Cats on loan with a view to a permanent transfer.
However, according to Sky Sports News, that deal is now "highly unlikely" after Naismith failed to agree personal terms with Sunderland, who have broken their transfer record this afternoon with the signing of Lorient midfielder Didier Ndong.
Naismith, 29, scored once in 13 appearances for Norwich in the second half of last season after joining the Canaries from Everton.
Sunderland are still believed to be seeking one more signing in the final hours of the transfer window.
