Garry Monk unhappy with "sluggish" Swansea City after ten-man Watford setback

Swansea City boss Garry Monk is unhappy with his side's "sluggish" performance in the 1-0 defeat at 10-man Watford.

Garry Monk has criticised his Swansea City side for their "sluggish" performance in this afternoon's 1-0 defeat away to Premier League new boys Watford.

Odion Ighalo struck on the hour mark to settle a clash that saw the Hornets finish with 10 men after Valon Behrami received a straight red card on 64 minutes.

The Swans, who beat Manchester United last time around, only registered three shots on target, and Monk admits that it was not what he has come to expect from City.

"It was a poor afternoon for us," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "We lost focus on what we're good at and we did things that we don't normally do.

"We were sluggish with the ball and didn't use it in the right areas. We didn't perform at our usual levels and unfortunately we got what we deserved.

"It's a shame, because we've been playing so well this season and we wanted to carry that momentum on, but it wasn't to be."

Consequence of the defeat, Swansea, who won two and drew two of their first four games, are no longer unbeaten.
