Swansea City have reportedly failed in their attempt to secure a £4m offer for Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The future of the 22-year-old has been in limbo in recent months, with the Welsh side keen to tie down the playmaker following a loan stint at the Liberty Stadium.
It is believed that Sigurdsson's parent club have rejected a bid from the Premier League outfit as they are keen to receive more for the Iceland international, according to Setanta Sports.
Sigurdsson told walesonline: "I'm going on holiday, I'm going back to Iceland and we'll just have to see what the future holds. I have no idea when a decision will be made. I'm not thinking about it for the next few days."
Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United have all been touted as possible destinations for the midfielder in recent months.
