Haris Seferovic dedicates goal to father

Switzerland striker Haris Seferovic dedicates his winning goal against Ecuador to his father.

Switzerland striker Haris Seferovic has dedicated his winning goal against Ecuador at the World Cup to his father.

Seferovic found the net deep in stoppage time on Sunday as the Swiss came from behind to snatch the points in their opening game of the tournament.

"I give a big thank you to my father, it was his birthday and I dedicate my goal to him," the 22-year-old told FIFA.com. "There is nothing better than achieving a goal like this and until I scored I had not seen a lot of the ball, but when it comes to it you have to be ready."

Switzerland continue their campaign on Friday against Group E leaders France.
