Liverpool's new head coach Arne Slot has reportedly made direct contact with Netherlands' Euro 2024 star Jeremie Frimpong regarding a move to Anfield this summer.

Frimpong played a key role for Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen last season as they went on to secure both the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal titles.

Leverkusen became the first team to complete an entire Bundesliga season without defeat, and they also set a European record of 51 unbeaten games in a row across all competitions.

The 23-year-old scored nine goals and provided seven assists from right-back in 31 Bundesliga matches last season, and also chipped in with three goals in 10 Europa League appearances.

Man United 'expect' attacking outcast to attend pre-season training

Manchester United are reportedly expecting Jadon Sancho to return to training next week having failed to find a buyer for the England international.

United were longtime admirers of the attacker and spent around £73m to acquire his services from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window of 2021.

The 24-year-old struggled to find his best form since arriving at Old Trafford and fell out with the Red Devils' manager Erik ten Hag at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.

After being left out of United's squad to face Arsenal last September, Sancho accused Ten Hag of unfairly singling him out and then refused to apologise to the Dutchman.

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join a new club in a potential big-money move ahead of his contract at the Etihad Stadium expiring.

The 33-year-old missed the first half of last season due to injury but returned to be a key player for City in the latter part of the Premier League campaign.

Last term, the Belgian scored six goals and provided 18 assists in 26 appearances for the Citizens.

De Bruyne's contract at the Etihad Stadium runs until 2025, at which point he will be 34. Thus, the Premier League champions might consider cashing in on the star playmaker this summer if the opportunity arises.

Greenwood exit: Three clubs 22-year-old could join this summer

Mason Greenwood is highly unlikely to represent Manchester United again, with the forward expected to leave the Red Devils on a permanent basis during the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has not played for the 20-time English champions since January 2022.

Little over two years ago, the forward, following accusations from a woman, was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and he was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.

The Englishman was also facing charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but the case against him was officially dropped last February.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that Nathan Fraser has signed a new long-term contract at Molineux.

The 19-year-old forward has been with his hometown club since 2012 and has successfully graduated from the academy setup.

During 2023-24, Fraser was required to feature in the first-team ranks on a regular basis courtesy of injuries to Hwang Hee-Chan and Matheus Cunha.

A total of 351 minutes were accumulated across 11 appearances, Fraser getting on the scoresheet against Blackpool and Brentford in the EFL Cup and FA Cup respectively.

Perfect Rashford replacement: Man United must not miss Williams opportunity

Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United is again being called into question, with Paris Saint-Germain allegedly reigniting their interest in the Red Devils academy product.

There is no doubting the 26-year-old's talent, but he really struggled last season, only managing eight goals and five assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.

Rashford cut a frustrated figure for long spells, meanwhile, and it might be best for both parties to cut ties this summer, especially if PSG place a suitable offer on the table.

Man United would allegedly be willing to accept an offer of around £60m, and his sale would count as pure profit under the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules.

Manchester United are reportedly close to completing a deal for Crystal Palace youngster Samuel Lusale.

The 16-year-old was in Palace's FA Youth Cup squad last term, while he turned out on three occasions for Slovakia Under-17s at the Under-17 European Championship earlier this summer.

Lusale has been with the Eagles since the age of 13, but according to the Manchester Evening News, Man United are closing in on a deal for the attacker.

The 20-time English champions are currently prioritising the signings of young players, with the club moving away from spending huge money on established stars.

Cucurella on the case: Chelsea defender urges Spain star to join Blues

    © Reuters

Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has revealed that he is attempting to convince Spain teammate Nico Williams to make the move to Chelsea during this summer's transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been one of the stars of Euro 2024, scoring once and providing one assist in three appearances to help La Roja reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

Williams's future at club level is currently the subject of much speculation, with Athletic Bilbao facing a huge task when it comes to keeping hold of him this summer.

Barcelona are thought to be at the head of the queue for the forward, but there has also been suggestions of interest from the Premier League in the shape of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Ten Hag role: Man United 'make' huge call on Dutchman's transfer involvement

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on May 6, 2024
    © Reuters

Erik ten Hag will reportedly keep hold of his veto over new signings at Manchester United, having had his contract at Old Trafford extended by a further 12 months.

The Dutchman was heavily linked with a departure towards the end of the 2023-24 campaign due to Man United's struggles, with the team finishing down in eighth position in the Premier League table.

However, a poor season ended on a positive note, beating Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup final to claim the trophy, and the success also secured a spot in the group stage of the 2024-25 Europa League.

On Wednesday, Man United announced that Ten Hag's contract at Old Trafford had been extended by a further year, with his deal now running until the summer of 2026.

The speculation surrounding the Dutchman's future has gathered pace in recent days, with Man United seemingly advancing on a deal for the centre-back.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, De Ligt has told agent Rafaela Pimenta that he only wants to move to Man United this summer despite suggestions of interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old is currently with the Netherlands squad at Euro 2024, but there is a belief that the deal could be completed before the end of the tournament.
