Jose Gaya: 'Progress has been a dream'

Valencia defender Jose Gaya admits that his progress this season has been "a dream".

Valencia defender Jose Gaya has admitted that his progress this season has surprised even him.

The 19-year-old has been with Los Che since 2006 – progressing through the youth ranks before making his debut in 2012.

This season, Gaya has appeared in 16 league games for the Spanish outfit, with his performances drawing a host of admiring glances from across Europe.

"For me, it's a dream. I never expected to be where I am at 19 years of age, but I always want more and I'm not satisfied with what I have got at the moment," he told the club's official website.

Gaya has three Spanish Under-21 caps to his name, but is yet to represent the star-studded senior team.
