West Bromwich Albion are reportedly prepared to make Jonny Evans the club's top earner in a bid to keep the Northern Ireland international out of the clutches of a top-four Premier League club.
The centre-back came through the youth system at Manchester United before leaving for West Brom in the summer of 2015, where he has developed into a key player.
It was reported that Arsenal wanted to sign the 28-year-old in the latter stages of August and according to The Telegraph, West Brom are preparing to offer the defender a new £75,000-a-week contract in a bid to ward off the interest.
Evans, who made 198 appearances for Man United between 2006 and 2015, was part of the Northern Ireland team that reached the last-16 stage of the European Championships earlier this summer.
