Mark Noble: 'Dimitri Payet leaving West Ham United would be a shock'

West Ham United captain Mark Noble admits that he would be shocked to see Dimitri Payet leave the club during the January transfer window.

West Ham United captain Mark Noble has claimed that it would be a shock to see Dimitri Payet leave the club during the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal and he refused to rule out a move to the Emirates when he spoke to media recently, suggesting that it would be "fun" to play for the Gunners.

"You never know what happens in football. I'm pretty sure Dimi doesn't want to come out and say too much," Noble told Sky Sports News.

"I would be shocked to see him go before the end of January. I'm pretty sure it would have to be a healthy bid to get him away from us.

"Can we afford to lose him? Not really, because he is one of the best players in the world at the minute."

West Ham are currently in the bottom half of the Premier League table and sit just five points clear of the relegation zone.
