Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has said that he is delighted with his side's preparation for the new season, despite a 2-0 defeat last night to Real Mallorca.
Martinez believes that the challenge of a team with the quality of Mallorca has set his side up well for the new season.
"I'm really, really happy, they are a high standard team in terms of the way they defend," Sky Sports News quotes Martinez as saying.
"It's the type of exercise we needed. We're starting to get to the point where we need to play 90 minutes; I felt many of the players needed that."
