Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has revealed that the club are close to completing a deal to sign a striker.
An attacking player is believed to be a priority for Wigan manager Uwe Rosler, and it appears that the Latics are on the brink of confirming a new arrival at the DW Stadium as they look to challenge for promotion from the Championship once again.
"We've been chatting about next season, and I have to say things are really taking shape," Whelan told the Wigan Evening Post.
"Uwe's looking to bring in a striker, and he thinks he's got one. We're looking to bring in three or four players in total. That should do us for the new season."
Middlesbrough forward Lukas Jutkiewicz is reported to be a target for Wigan.
