Kevin Doyle questions whether Wolverhampton Wanderers were too swift to sack manager Stale Solbakken.

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Kevin Doyle has questioned whether the club were right to terminate Stale Solbakken's contract at Molineux.

The Norwegian boss was dismissed by the Championship club last month and replaced by Dean Saunders, who has been unable to guide the team to a win in 12 matches.

"I really liked Stale," The Express quotes Doyle as saying. "It was tough. I compared it to Brendan Rodgers taking over from Steve Coppell at Reading.

"He tried to change how the team played and got sacked, but look where he is now. With Stale it was very similar, he tried to get us playing and maybe we didn't have the players or time and patience to get into that mode."

Wolves, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are currently third from bottom in the table.
