Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly decided to press ahead with the January signing of Benfica midfielder Joao Carvalho.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side currently sit at the top of the Championship standings and with a 10-point advantage over third place, it appears that the club's hierarchy will do all they can to guarantee promotion to the Premier League.
Reports have suggested that a striker remains Nuno's priority at the start of 2018 but according to O Jogo, Wolves plan on making further use of their links with Benfica.
Fosun International are allegedly willing to spend €15m (£13.24m) in order to tie up a deal for Carvalho, despite the 20-year-old only making his debut for the Portuguese giants in their 2-0 defeat to Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Carvalho played the full 90 minutes at the Estadio da Luz - suggesting that Benfica value the youngster - but it has been suggested that Wolves are already in negotiations regarding his signature through super agent Jorge Mendes.
While Carvalho has only made one appearance for Benfica, he did feature on 15 occasions during a loan spell with Vitoria Setubal during the second half of last season.
