Former England international flanker Neil Back has joined Edinburgh as a forwards coach.
The 43-year-old World Cup winner was recently in charge of Rugby Lions following stints with Leicester Tigers and Leeds Carnegie.
"This role presents a fantastic challenge and I'm very grateful to get the opportunity at such a high-profile club," he said.
"It's a very exciting time for Edinburgh Rugby with a great squad, exciting new players arriving and some really positive performances to build on from last season.
"My coaching philosophy is to be meticulous in everything we do. It's very much about the absolute fine detail needed to maximise your potential. All of this contributes to my love for the coaching and training environment."
Back has signed a two-year deal with the Pro 12 club.
