London Welsh coach Lyn Jones has admitted that he was surprised by his side's win over Sale Sharks.

The newly-promoted side earned their second victory in five days with a 29-19 triumph at the Salford City Stadium on Friday night.

"Compared to the first two weeks, are we surprised? Yes, very much so. You've got to be, haven't you?" said Jones.

"But the more you play like this, the less surprised you get. We got caught with our pants well down against Leicester and Quins, but we've learnt and we've come back."

The win has pushed Welsh up to sixth in the Aviva Premiership table.
