New Zealand prop Tony Woodcock has been ruled out of the Rugby World Cup due to a hamstring injury sustained in the country's victory against Tonga.
Woodcock, who has made over 100 appearances for the All Blacks, had previously announced that he would retire from international rugby once the competition had ended.
The 34-year-old scored his 10th international try in New Zealand's 47-9 win over Tonga on Friday.
"It's obviously gutting and disappointing for Woody. He has played his last Test, New Zealanders should be very proud of him," New Zealand coach Steve Hansen told reporters following confirmation of the competition-ending injury.
New Zealand, who secured top spot in Pool C with Friday's win, will play either Ireland or France in a quarter-final on October 17 at the Millennium Stadium.
