Clermont Auvergne forward Nathan Hines is banned for six weeks for stamping on an opponent.

Clermont Auvergne forward Nathan Hines has been handed a six-week ban for stamping on an opponent.

The 35-year-old was cited for the offence after his side's 49-16 win over Scarlets in the Heineken Cup on Saturday.

Despite pleading not guilty, the former Scotland international was given the suspension at an independent hearing in Dublin on Thursday.

Hines will return to action for Clermont on November 26.
