Defence coach Shaun Edwards has insisted that Wales's poor record in Australia won't be playing on the minds of the players ahead of the three-Test tour.
The Red Dragons haven't won on Wallabies soil in 25 years, and have only been victorious down under twice in their history. Despite this record, Edwards is in a positive mood ahead of the tour.
"We have to prove we are mentally strong enough to win," Edwards said.
"The Welsh statistics against any team in the southern hemisphere don't make good reading, especially away from home.
"This team wants to make its own history and has no hang-ups about the statistics from the past. They are a little bit angry they haven't beaten Australia in the recent past."
Wales's tour begins on Saturday when they face Australia at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
