Injured Tom James has World Cup dream dashed as Wales send him home

Wales coach Warren Gatland drops injured winger Tom James from the Rugby World Cup training squad.

Winger Tom James has been sent home from Wales's Rugby World Cup training camp due to injury.

The 28-year-old hasn't played international rugby for five years, and didn't take any part in two training camps in Switzerland and Dubai because of a foot problem.

Coach Warren Gatland plans to cut his squad down to 31 players on August 31, but will release some players following Saturday's warm-up match against Ireland.

James has scored two tries in 10 appearances for Wales.
