The ATP has today announced a two-year agreement for Rio de Janeiro to become the official tourism destination of the ATP World Tour.
Designed to promote international travel to the region, Rio de Janeiro will be the new presenting partner of ATP World Tour Uncovered, which is the organisation's weekly television show.
Rio will also become the platinum sponsor of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at The O2 in London, beginning tomorrow afternoon.
"Rio de Janeiro is a spectacular destination in a country with a great tradition in tennis, and we're pleased they've chosen the ATP World Tour as the platform for communicating their international tourism message," said Adam Helfant, ATP executive chairman and president.
"The ATP World Tour features 62 events in 32 countries, so the partnership delivers a very strong international presence."
The State of Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil, with a population of nearly 16 million inhabitants.
