Garbine Muguruza: 'Positivity key to Australian Open form'

Garbine Muguruza says that trusting her positive style is paying off at the Australian Open.

Garbine Muguruza has claimed that trusting her positive style is allowing her to achieve success at the Australian Open.

Muguruza needed three sets to knock out unseeded Swiss opponent Timea Bacsinszky, and the Spaniard admits that she is very comfortable with her form after reaching the second week in Melbourne for just the second time.

"I'm really happy. Three victories in a Grand Slam. Last year I also achieved round of 16, so really happy. I'm playing good tennis. I'm doing what I work in the pre-season, so proud of how I won these three matches," the 24th seed told reporters.

"You can be playing bad or nervous, but if you're negative, for sure there is no options that you're going to win. So I just think all the time just be positive. You will have your chance. Doesn't matter if you win or you lose the first, second set. That's what I did, and good that it's on my side, the match."

Muguruza will meet world number one Serena Williams in the fourth round.
