Germany's Tommy Haas continued his recent positive form at the French Open this afternoon by recording a 7-6 6-1 6-3 victory over Guillaume Rufin.
There was very little to separate the two players during the opening set in Paris and as a result a tie-breaker was required to determine a victor. Haas gained control of that early on and eventually won through 7-4.
That handed the 35-year-old the initiative and he dropped just four more games on his way to defeating his French opponent.
He will now take on either Jack Sock or Guillermo Garcia-Lopez for a place in round three of the competition.
