Roger Federer has advanced to the fourth round in Indian Wells with a 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 victory over Milos Raonic.
Raonic, 21, held his nerve in the first set, winning a break and coming out on top in the tie-break.
The world number three bounced back in the second, forcing a break early on to take the set 6-2.
Federer lost only five points on serve in the third, eventually clinching the match after two hours and seven minutes.
The 30-year-old will next face unseeded Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci.
