Li Na retains Shenzhen Open crown

Chinese number one Li Na retains the Shenzhen Open by beating compatriot Peng Shuai 6-4 7-5.

Chinese number one Li Na retained the Shenzhen Open crown by beating compatriot Peng Shuai 6-4 7-5 in Saturday's final.

Top seed Li appeared to be cruising to victory when she led 4-1 in the second set, but Peng reeled off four straight games to move back into contention.

Although Li, who produced seven double faults, was far from at her best, she managed to halt Peng's momentum to win the next three games on the spin and secure victory.

Li has now beaten Peng in six of their seven professional meetings.
