The Serb looked in supreme form early on and took the first set in routine fashion, breaking early to win 6-3.
German veteran Haas rolled back the years, playing some exquisite backhand shots to level the match and force a deciding set.
An even third set finally saw Djokovic gain the upper hand after some brilliant exhchanges, the Serb winning a tough match 6-3 3-6 6-3.
Djokovic goes through to play countrymen Janko Tipsarevic in an enticing semi-final draw.
