David Ferrer has beaten fellow countrymen Juan Carlos Ferrero to a place in the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters.
The 29-year-old came from a set down to win the match 1-6 7-5 6-2 in China.
The opening set went smoothly for Ferrero as he eased his way to snatching the lead. However, his opponent battled his way in the second set, stealing Ferrero's match point and forcing the match to a third set.
In the early stages of the final set Ferrer managed to break the 31-year-old's serve and went on to see it through and claim a place in the quarter-finals.
The Spaniard will face American Andy Roddick in the next stage of the competition.
