World number one Novak Djokovic believes that his recent record against Rafael Nadal will stand him in good stead for tonight's US Open final against the Spaniard.
The two have met on five occasions this year - and Djokovic is yet to lose an encounter with the 25-year-old in 2011.
The Serb has claimed that his recent performances against Nadal have given him confidence, but he is wary of the threat posed by the reigning champion.
"I know that I have a game that is good enough to win against him," said Djokovic.
"I have proved that this year on three different surfaces, so I believe that I have a good chance.
"I need to go out on the court believing I can win. But we're talking about a player who has won 10 majors already in his career and he's only 25. He's defending his title."
Nadal currently leads the overall head-to-head record between the pair 16-12.
