Maria Sharapova has declared that she is delighted with her form at Flushing Meadows after making the last eight for the first time since 2006.
The former US Open winner survived a scare to beat Nadia Petrova in three sets to book her quarter-final place.
Sharapova last got this far in New York when she won the tournament and said that she is overjoyed with her progress.
She said: "I'm so glad to be back in the quarters. It's been so many years now."
The Russian star plays Marion Bartoli in the last eight after she got past fifth seed Petra Kvitova to set up the clash.
