Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray has progressed through the first round of the US Open unscathed by sealing a straight-sets win over Lukas Rosol at Flushing Meadows in New York.
The Scotsman, who won the tournament in 2012, ousted his Czech opponent with a 6-3 6-2 6-2 victory in under two hours on Tuesday.
Murray fought hard for his first break point of the match as he took it on his third opportunity, but from that point on it was relatively plain sailing for the British number one.
The Wimbledon champion, who won Olympic gold earlier this summer, nabbed a double break before wrapping up the second set in 34 minutes.
Rosol struggled to match the world number two as he lost serve a further two times and failed to create a single break point during the match.
