Sam Stosur has won the US Open after beating Serena Williams in straight sets.
The American was out of sorts in the first, and Stosur capitalised to claim it 6-2.
Williams was penalised at the start of the second for shouting in celebration before the ball was dead, which led to an exchange of words between the number 28 seed and the umpire.
The row energised the New York crowd, and Williams briefly had the momentum, but the Australian regained her composure to cause an upset and win 6-3.
The win is Stosur's first grand slam success of her career.
