Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

Arsenal's search for their first Premier League victory since the start of November will continue on Saturday when they welcome Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have lost five of their last seven league matches, failing to win in the process, to sit down in 15th position in the table, just four points outside of the relegation zone.

Mikel Arteta's side will be determined to pick up a positive result against Chelsea, but the team's confidence took another hit on Tuesday when they were thumped 4-1 at home by Manchester City in the EFL Cup.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Chelsea)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed the clashes with Everton and Man City due to a calf injury, but the Arsenal captain has an outside chance of featuring against Frank Lampard's side on Boxing Day.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Thomas Partey limped off the field during the North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur on December 6, and the summer arrival from Atletico Madrid remains on the sidelines with a muscular problem.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Chelsea)

Gabriel Martinelli, who has only just returned from a long-term knee injury, had to be substituted in Tuesday's EFL Cup clash with Man City after taking a heavy blow to his shin. The youngster avoided serious injury, but the kick from Zack Steffen and subsequent swelling means that he is a major doubt for this contest.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no suspension issues this weekend, with Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka serving the final game of his three-match ban against Man City in the EFL Cup.
