Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Crystal Palace

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Monday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Arsenal will go in search of their second win in as many Premier League games when they face London rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday evening.

The Gunners secured an uncomfortable 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend, where first-half strikes from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka proved telling.

Mikel Arteta's men opened the 2022-23 season with a 2-0 triumph over Palace at Selhurst Park, but they have already been hit with a devastating early blow on the fitness front.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Eagles, who bested Sheffield United 1-0 in gameweek one.

Jurrien Timber

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Summer signing Jurrien Timber left the field after just 50 minutes on his Premier League debut last weekend, and scans have shown a serious ACL injury - which will require surgery - and the Dutchman will not play again for several months.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 16 (vs. Everton)

Likewise, Gabriel Jesus has gone under the knife to address a knee problem, but the Brazilian striker will not be sidelined for as long as Timber and could make his comeback in the middle of next month.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: August 21 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Oleksandr Zinchenko is yet to play for the Gunners this season due to a calf problem, but he is now back in full training and in with a strong chance of deputising for Timber on Monday night.

Mohamed Elneny

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Mohamed Elneny welcomes Timber into the long-term knee injury club, and the Egyptian midfielder is still on the road to recovery from the operation he underwent at the end of January.

Folarin Balogun

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: August 21 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Folarin Balogun has not been seen in an Arsenal shirt since picking up a foot injury in pre-season, but the American striker is expected to head for the exit door in the coming weeks either way.

Albert Sambi Lokonga

Possible return date: Unknown

Similarly, Albert Sambi Lokonga is working his way back from a muscular injury, but the out-of-favour Belgian would be unlikely to force his way into a matchday squad if fully fit.
