Serge Gnabry returns after 11 months out with a knee injury

Serge Gnabry returns from a long-term knee injury for the Arsenal Under-21s.

Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry has handed Arsene Wenger a massive boost after he played his first game in 11 months for the Under-21 side last night.

The 19-year-old has been missing since last March with a knee injury, but he has been improving his fitness in recent weeks and played 65 minutes against Newcastle United Under-21s at St James' Park.

The Gunners won the match 2-1, and Gnabry later expressed his delight at being back on the pitch.

He tweeted: "It's an indescribable feeling to be back on the pitch after such a long time - and on top of that a victory. That's fun!"

Gnabry made 14 appearances for the Gunners last season.
