Arsenal's Jack Wilshere "still a few weeks away" from returning to action

Arsene Wenger reveals that Jack Wilshere is still a "few weeks away" from returning to first-team action due to ankle problems.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Jack Wilshere is no closer to returning to action due to continuous ankle problems.

The midfielder has had a frustrating season due to ankle complaints and has not played for the Gunners since their 2-1 win over Manchester United in November.

After a brief stint back in the squad, Wilshere suffered a setback in February, which was initially supposed to keep the midfielder on the treatment table for a few days, but he has not featured since.

In this morning's press conference, Wenger told reporters that Wilshere is still a "few weeks away" from making a return to first-team action.

The 23-year-old will play no part in England's upcoming fixtures against Lithuania and Italy this month.
