Arsenal 'not sure over Arsene Wenger's future'

Arsene Wenger's future at Arsenal is far from certain, with reports suggesting a shortlist of potential successors has been drawn up.

Arsenal are reportedly making contingency plans to replace manager Arsene Wenger, if he decides to leave the Gunners in the summer.

The North London club could end a nine-year trophy drought by landing the FA Cup this term, but with their quest for the Premier League title faltering after thumping defeats to some of their major rivals, questions have arisen over the Frenchman's future.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal are not looking to sack Wenger, but are lining up possible candidates such as Diego Simeone, Jurgen Klopp and Roberto Martinez, if the 64-year-old decides not to carry on as manager.

It has been reported that the 6-0 defeat to Chelsea had hit Wenger hard, leading him to question if he was the right man for the job in the long-term.

His Arsenal side remain five points off the top of the Premier League, having shared a 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday.
