Arsenal 'could sack Unai Emery this weekend'

Arsenal could sack Unai Emery if the team's poor form continues against Eintracht Frankfurt and Norwich City, according to a report.

Unai Emery could reportedly lose his position as head coach should Arsenal fail to win their next two matches against Eintracht Frankfurt and Norwich City.

The Gunners are without a victory in their last six matches in all competitions and were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Emery continues to be backed by Arsenal chiefs, but according to The Telegraph, the club's stance could change by the end of the weekend.

The report claims that should the capital side fail to overcome Frankfurt in the Europa League and Norwich in the Premier League in their next two fixtures then the Spaniard could be relieved of his duties.

The Gunners are sitting at the top of their Europa League group with 10 points to show from their four matches.

The team's indifferent Premier League form has seen them slide down the table in recent weeks, though, and they are currently eight points off fourth-placed Chelsea on the same number of matches.
