Arsenal will be looking to set an English Football League record when they travel to Craven Cottage to face fellow London side Fulham on Sunday.

Arsenal will have the chance to set an English Football League record when they face Fulham in Sunday's London derby.

The Gunners staged a dramatic comeback last weekend to beat relegation-threatened Bournemouth 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

Philip Billing gave the Cherries the lead in 9.11 seconds, before Marcos Senesi doubled his side's advantage with a headed effort.

The North London side managed to restore parity thanks to strikes from Thomas Partey and Ben White, and with the contest seemingly heading towards a draw, Reiss Nelson scored a 97th-minute winner to spark wild scenes of jubilation.

Arsenal were involved in the Europa League in midweek, playing out a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their last-16 tie against Sporting Lisbon, but they will now turn their attention to Sunday's contest where they will be aiming to record a fifth consecutive league victory.

Although the Gunners will make the trip to Craven Cottage as the Premier League leaders, the gap at the top of the table was cut to just two points by Manchester City on Saturday.

Erling Braut Haaland dispatched his 78th-minute penalty to guide the Citizens to a narrow 1-0 away win over Crystal Palace.

Arsenal's hopes of restoring their five-point advantage will be boosted by their recent record in away London derbies.

The Gunners have beaten Crystal Palace, Brentford, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on their travels this season.

After winning those four games by a combined 8-0 scoreline, Arsenal have the chance to become the first team in English Football League history to win five consecutive away London derbies without conceding.

Arsenal may be quietly confident that they can keep Fulham at bay, having recorded 11 clean sheets in the Premier League this season - their tally is only bettered by Newcastle United, who have recorded 12 shutouts in the top flight.

Although Mikel Arteta's side were unable to keep a clean sheet when they faced Fulham at the Emirates Stadium in August, they came from behind to claim a narrow 2-1 victory following Gabriel Magalhaes's 86th-minute winner.

That result extended Arsenal's unbeaten run in meetings with Fulham to nine games, while they have also emerged victorious from their last four trips to Craven Cottage.

Gabriel Jesus, who has not played since the 2022 World Cup, is closing in on a return to fitness, but Arteta has revealed that the Brazil international remains unavailable for Sunday's contest.

The Arsenal boss also confirmed that Eddie Nketiah and Leandro Trossard are sidelined, while Martin Odegaard and Kieran Tierney will have to be assessed after the pair missed Thursday's Europa League game through illness.
