Arsenal 'to make improved offer' for £34m-rated Aymeric Laporte

Athletic Bilbao centre-back Aymeric Laporte is a £34m target for Arsenal, a report claims.

Arsenal are reportedly planning a £34m move for Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte.

The 20-year-old Frenchman, who has yet to be capped at senior international level, is said to have been watched closely by scouts of the North London club in recent months.

A report in The Daily Express claims that the Gunners had an initial offer rejected in the summer, although they will now make an improved deal which will cover the player's release clause when the window reopens in January.

Laporte has made eight appearances for Bilbao this season in all competitions.
