Ignazio Abate has reportedly assured AC Milan that he will ignore interest from other clubs to commit his future to the Rossoneri soon.
Reports in the summer suggested that Arsenal were leading the race to sign the 27-year-old Italian as Arsene Wenger looked to add defensive options to his squad.
However, a deal was not agreed between the clubs in the transfer window, and any chance of the switch being completed in January looks unlikely.
According to Tuttosport, Abate is close to signing a three-year contract extension after entering negotiations with Milan.
Abate's current deal expires at the end of the season.
