Crystal Palace 'enter race to sign Jack Wilshere'

Crystal Palace are reportedly considering a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who has been told that he can leave the club.

Crystal Palace have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Jack Wilshere on loan from Arsenal before Wednesday's transfer deadline.

Reports emerged on Monday that the Gunners were considering letting the 24-year-old leave on a temporary basis in order to get his career back on track following an injury-plagued period.

Italian sides Juventus and Roma are understood to be lining up a move for the England international, but Palace could be prepared to offer the midfielder an alternative closer to home, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal are willing to send Wilshere to a fellow Premier League outfit, and the player himself is thought to be keen to stay in London.

The Eagles are looking for a replacement for Mile Jedinak after the Australian joined Aston Villa earlier this summer, and see Wilshere as a good short-term option with Premier League experience.

Wilshere has been limited to just two substitute appearances so far this season and was left out of Sam Allardyce's first England squad.
