A report claims that Everton and Leicester City have joined the race to sign rumoured Arsenal target Djene Dakonam from Getafe.

Premier League duo Everton and Leicester City are reportedly contemplating a summer move for Getafe defender Djene Dakonam.

A number of clubs around Europe are said to have been closely monitoring the 27-year-old, who has a £30m release clause inserted into his contract.

No Spanish sides outside of the top three are likely to trigger that clause and, according to Marca, Dakonam may now be heading to the English top flight.

Everton and Leicester are keen to add the Togo international to their squad, it is claimed, while Arsenal have also had scouts present at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez this term.

Getafe are currently fourth in La Liga, though, and qualification for the Champions League could tempt Dakonam to stay on for another year.
