Arsenal are reportedly open to allowing Sead Kolasinac to rejoin Bundesliga outfit Schalke for the 2020-21 campaign.

Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac could reportedly be shipped out on loan to former club Schalke 04 for the 2020-21 campaign.

The 27-year-old was a key player for the Gunners during the 2019-20 campaign, making 32 appearances across all competitions as a left-back or as part of a back three.

However, Mikel Arteta is now believed to be planning a major overhaul at the Emirates ahead of next season, with Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes set to become Arsenal's newest arrival after completing his medical.

With the futures of several Arsenal defenders currently shrouded in uncertainty, Sky Germany reports that Schalke will look to bring Kolasinac back to the Bundesliga for next season.

The report claims that the Bosnia and Herzegovina international would like to return to Germany for 'private reasons', and Schalke are optimistic that they will get a deal over the line despite the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kolasinac, who has scored five times in 104 appearances for Arsenal, is under contract at the Emirates until 2022.
