Tottenham Hotspur could beat Arsenal to the signature of Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly beat Arsenal to the signature of Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron.

Almiron has scored 12 times and provided 13 assists in 32 MLS appearances for Atlanta this term, and Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for the playmaker in recent weeks.

The Gunners were said to be confident of signing the Paraguay international, but according to Futbol A Lo Grande, Tottenham could beat their rivals to his signature in the January transfer window.

The report, which has come from a Paraguayan radio station, has also said that Tottenham could pay in the region of £22m for Almiron when the winter window opens for business.

Almiron joined Atlanta from Argentine club Lanus in December 2016.
