Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph has insisted that he has not deserved six of the 10 bookings he has received this season.
The 23-year-old collected his 10th caution of the campaign during Villa's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Monday evening. As a result, Delph has been suspended for Villa's next two matches against relegation rivals Reading and Queens Park Rangers.
However, discussing his conduct, Delph was adamant that some of the bookings that he has been given were "shocking".
"I've got 10 yellow cards and deserved maybe only four. Some of the bookings have been shocking," he told BBC West Midlands. "I've just started to get a run in the team and I want to do my best, instead of which I'll be sat, being a nervous wreck, watching.
"The next two games are pivotal. We're aiming for six points. But there's other midfielders that will step in and do the job."
Delph joined Villa from Leeds United back in 2009.
