Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert believes that the club's supporters can inspire his side to victory against Manchester United on Saturday.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert believes that Villa Park becomes a "great place to play" when the club's supporters get behind their team.

Manchester United are the visitors to Villa Park on Saturday evening as they look to maintain their lead in the Premier League table, but Lambert has insisted that United will not have it all their own way.

"Your home crowd is absolutely vital to everything. They drive you on. They take you that yard more than normal when the crowd are behind you," the Birmingham Mail quotes the manager as saying.

"They'll come and get right behind us, particularly because of who we're playing.

"I have always said if you can get Villa Park going it is a great place to play."

Villa are currently in 17th place in the Premier League table.
